KYNO TIMENOW UX/UI CASE STUDY

Kyno is Timenow’s proprietary AI, launched during the Innovation Week 2024. It was created to organize, structure, and make accessible nearly 30 years of accumulated technical knowledge

More than just a chatbot, Kyno works as an operational copilot: supporting decision-making, reducing rework, and facilitating access to internal procedures, standards, and guidelines

My role in the project was to design:

- Prompt Catalog
- Voice to Text
- Interactions and Microinteractions
- Home Screen

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

Problems

Solutions

Prompt Catalog

Users didn’t know how to structure questions to obtain effective responses

Creation of a structured prompt catalog organized by category, with intelligent suggestions

Voice to Text

Typing difficulties in certain contexts (construction sites, external environments)

Implementation of voice commands, enabling faster and more efficient interaction

Microinteractions

Lack of visual feedback during interactions with the AI

Development of microinteractions, including smooth transitions, indicators, and visual processing states

Home Screen

Excessive information created cognitive overload

Simplified interface with clear visual hierarchy, improved spacing, and contextual prompt suggestions

1

CERTAINTIES

  • Users need fast responses.

  • Most users are not familiar with prompt engineering.

  • The experience must be simple, since the goal is to help employees quickly access project information.

2

ASSUMPTIONS

  • Would organizing prompts by category make the system easier to use?

  • Would automatic suggestions increase usage frequency?

  • Would suggested prompts reduce the user’s initial friction when starting a query?

3

QUESTIONS

  • Would voice commands actually be used frequently?

  • Would users fully trust the AI’s responses?

  • Could the AI maintain consistency in more complex technical answers?

KYNO UPGRADE

Interface and Information Architecture Refinement

The refinement process focused on clarity, consistency, and visual maturity of the product. I adjusted icons, spacing, and the catalog taxonomy to reduce noise, improve information hierarchy, and make navigation more intuitive

The goal was to transform Kyno into an even more reliable, organized tool prepared to scale alongside the company.
